Office Sonata opens on Friday

Office Sonata is a comedy about an office whose "motivational techniques" are extreme to the point of hilarity. I play several roles, including a receptionist, a "Termination Alternative Artist," a Word Document, and a hooker (don't worry, it's funny, not gross). Some nights I will swing in for the role of Marisa, a type-A account supervisor with hypogylcemia. You can check out the production company at their website http://rangeviewproductions.com.

Pitch It! is a hit

I've joined a new comedy troupe called Spontaneous Productions, and Friday night was the world premiere of Pitch It!, an hour-long show featuring sketches, short-form improv games, and a signature movie-themed long-form that lets the audience pitch it's very own movie, which Spontaneous Productions brings to life right before their eyes. Each month we let a new genre of movies inspire the show. This month was Oscar winning movies, for an evening of The Best Movie Ever.

We had a great crowd and got lots of good feedback about the show. The long-form "movie" was based on suggestions from the audience,  and featured a hero's journey to win a miniature shipbuilding contest. Set in Sweden: during the Viking era, the movie showed our hero battle savage rivals bent on pillaging, giant condors,  and an evil antagonist with tiny hands especially adept at miniature ship building.  Despite his compulsion to touch his nose four times in a row, he was able to win the competition with the help of his love interest (played by me), a flight attendant whose plane had crashed.
