Mom & Dad's Visit

When we decided to move, I told Mom she was welcome to come visit and help us spruce up the new place (she's an interior decorator). Dad decided to join her and we had a good four day visit. This was their first trip out here together, and it was nice to have them in our home now that we have somewhere that feels like a home. Dad got the yard looking great and Mom helped paint the kitchen, and they both helped pick out some furniture. It's looking pretty good around here.

They stayed in a gem of a hotel in West Hollywood called Le Petit; those who may come visit, take note! The outdoor dining and pool area was dreamy, and we all enjoyed an afternoon lounging there.


On their second night in town we had a cookout at our place so they could meet some of our friends. A set of four-year-old twins were in attendance, and they traumatized the bunnies, but were otherwise hilarious to have around. Our neighbor came and brought his new dog, a rescue pup named Jake. Friends from Furman, UCI, and LA were there, and Dad treated us to his special blend of Sewanee Rum Punch. 

We also did a driving tour of Beverly Hills, Mulholland Drive, and made a trip to the Farmer's Market. On their last night we went to a seafood restaurant in Santa Monica with an ocean view. Terrific people watching. All of us were captivated by the parade of locals and tourists.
